    I am having problems converting AVI to DVD, when using Tmpge I end up with two seperate files, sound/video yet my authoring progs Neodvd and Moviefactory wont let me input seperate sound/vid. If I try these progs to convert direct from AVI I get no sound

    If you look at the choices to the bottom left under 'stream type' you can choose:

    ES (video only)
    ES (audio only)
    ES (video+audio)
    System (video only)
    System (video+audio)

    It appears that you have 'ES (video+audio)' selected. You can mux (check faq) the m2v and mp2 files together thou to generate a valid MPEG file (no need to re-encode).

    To generate a MPEG file from the get go, choose 'System(video+audio)' (would normally be called PS)

    I have selected system video+audio but after loading file and starting conversion it still gives me 2 files sound/vid, and steram type tho greyed out has gone back to ES vid+sound
