Sony DW-U10A is a great DVD writter but Sony doesn't provide any the firmware upgrade.

This will change your DW-U10A to DRU-500A Writter and lets you upgrade your writter with the new DRU-500A v2.0e firmware.

I doubt that would work, and for a start I can read it's 1.0g firmware NOT 2.0e without a translation.

A more powerful laser is required for faster writing, so either this download is a fake, does not work, or it will kill your drive.

No this works fine.

DW-U10A is already x4 writter with its firmware.

DW-U10A is actually a DRU-500 but this is an OEM version of the product without Sony support and firware upgrade available.

I'm done the firware change and everything works properly .
