    I remember River Raid as well as, and of the ones you mentioned, I think Missile Command was my favorite.

    I don't know how old you are now, but it sounds like your talkin' about "SHINOBI." If so, that was another bad ass game that I used to dominate. The ninja had chinese stars to throw and could pick up a gun here and there. Then there were three types of magic. Ligtning, tornadoes, and the one where like fifty ninjas just go nuts. Another Great Game! 8)
    Ninja Gaiden was a very good ninja actin arcade game also if I may add.

    I've got Mame but haven't tried it yet. What's the executable file for it? I'm at work, but I seem to remember that there are a couple exe files.

    This game you refer to sounds like Ninja Spirit by IREM, one of my favorites.

    The Vector Line Graphics Star Wars game they had at the Gas Station near me... I'd LOVE a real life version of that.

    and R-Type & Sidearms = Awesome, I loved games that included addons like those two

    loads more I could mention but those are what popped into my head 1st

    My old favourite on the ZX Spectrum was Manic Miner and Chuckie Egg
