I have tried many times to get a .sub off of my dvd so i can edit it.
But every time mencoder screws up. Any way to fix?
heres my terminal input:
mencoder -dvd 1 -ocv xvid -oac mp3lame -vobsubout subs -vobsuboutindex 0 -sid 1
it just quits.

if that is the exact command you use, then it would quit....
your flag to use xvid and the video codec is wrong.
you told it -ocv
when in fact it would be
-ovc -
Wouldnt you also wish to specify an output file by using the flag:
-o /path/to/output
not sure about that one though...
Hope this helps. -
OK
With some tweaking to FFmpegX output, I got the .sub file off.
Now when I try to import it to title lab, it shows no text, and just 000000's across the timeline.
Anyone kno what to do?
