As Sefy correctly states on his newbie guide to CD-ripping, Windows 2000 *doesn't* come with an ASPI layer. Then, I went to Adaptec's home site and found their aspi32 - guess what? They say it's not for Windows 2000.
So, given that I have Nero installed, is there just a file I have to move into WINNT\Drivers or is there a place where I have to d/load the ASPI layer?
Thanks in advance.

Try this:

(in the future you may wish to do a search on google)

Ok, basicly, you need 3 files, one is the ASPI Layer v4.60 Build 1019, then you get the ASPI Update which will put you in the latest v4.60 Build 1021, email me, and i'll send the files to you, and don't worry, it may say it's not for 2000, but it works perfectly
