Hi everybody, First I would like to say that I have been reading this forum for a while. I have learned alot from all of you. I am new to making dvd's. I am using dvd decrypter, and instant copy. When I do single layer dvd's I have no problems, but when I try to do double layer one I run into a problem. Here it is hopefully someone out there can help me. I went by the guide on this site the dvd decrypter works fine but when I try to encode it with Instant Copy I get this error (The system can not find the file specified as 80070002.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.[/b][/list]

  2. I don't know how to fix any Instant Copy errors but for single layer DVD's I just rip the DVD to a VIDEO_TS folder then directly burn that folder using RecordNow Max. Saves a lot of time.

  6. I am getting this error on just about all the DVDs I've tried to copy. I use DVDDecrypter to decrypt or whatever then when I try to copy with Instant Copy, I get that error. I'm a newbie and some of the guides are a bit over my head at this time. What is causing this error and how do I fix or work around it? When I used DVDXcopy to copy these DVDs, it works perfectly, I am just tired of using 2 DVDs for every one DVD I have. It gets costly.

There have been 3 patch/upgrades for Pinnacle's Instant Copy. The third brings it to version 7.1.1.
Do you know what version you may have?
I had similar problems with the second patch, until I applied the third patch.

    Just an FYI.

Try this link to get the patch.

  8. When using InstantCopy make sure you rip the whole contents of the DVD and not just the main movie.

I've ran this patch 3 times (and I just did it again after reading this message) and the version I come up with after doing an about is 7.03.140 for the Instant Copy Module. Is that correct? I just tried doing a burn and I got the same error. Any other ideas?

    Sorry, no further ideas.
That patch should put your software at version 7.1.1 why it isn't doing that I have no idea.
The only suggestion I have would be to uninstall Instant Coy, then re-install it, then run the patch.

  11. I believe for IC to work properly, you would have to use "Select ALL" from the "Edit" menu. IC needs all the files, or it won't work properly. Even if you want the main movie only, you still have to select and rip all the files.

Regarding the version of the software, when you download the update file from Pinnacle's web site, it tells you it's version 7.1.1. However, after you install it, and you click on the little button on the upper left corner of the window, and then click on "About", you will see the version of Instant Copy is showing as 7.0.3.140.

  12. I have decrypted ALL the files using DVD decrypter on all attempts. I have done uninstalls, reinstalls, intalled each and every patch, etc. I guess I'm just not destined to use this program.

    steveknj,

Not that this will help your immediate problem, but I would suggest you fill out your COMPUTER DETAILS in your personal profile, so that others may be able to help you with future questions that you may have.

As an aside, I only experienced such a problem with trying to make backups of a particular series of DVDs that I recently worked on. I didn't have such errors on others.

You didn't specify if you had previous successes, or not, so I would venture to say that you should try others to see if you don't have a consistent problem. If you do have a cosistent problem, it might be something else causing it. (Not that I have a clue what that may be for now.)

    Good luck.

  14. Actually, I did mention that I had the problem on all of the DVDs I tried to copy. I have so far tried two full length movies and one episodic DVD. No luck. I'll fill out my system details if that will help.
