Problem encoding avi using AVI2SVCD

I am trying to encode a downloaded avi using AVI2SVCD, however every time I try and open it I get an error message saying "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid' - any ideas what I am doing wrong?? I am very new to this so please keep your answers as simple and possible. Many thanx.

It sounds like you just need to install the XVID codec - you will find it in the TOOLS section of this site under 'CODECS/FILTERS'.

Thanks for that - doesn't appear to have worked but maybe I haven't installed properly will look at it properly tomorrow. However, I now have another query regarding AVI2SVCD - if the avi I have downloaded is in two parts is it possible to load both parts into AVI2SVCD to encode??
