  2. I guess by flipper we are to assume that you mean a double sided DVD. Parts of movie on both sides. Really annoying because you have to get up and actually flip the disc over. Right? Well assuming this is your dilemma I have found that rip both sides of the movie on your HD then frameserve it all at once. Then encode. I have run into this problem a few times. Ben Hur, Amadeus for instance are like this. I usually use Eazyvcd, but I wanted the same amount of movie on each disc. (making SVCDs) So the only way to do that was rip both sides and frameserve it all as one movie. Came out really good especially Amadeus that doesn't have a intermission to mask the "flip" can't tell at all. If it helps then I'm glad to be of service. If this has nothing to do with what you are talking about, then please ignore.

Ive just backed up a double sided dvd to dvdr using this method. Put all the main movie vobs together (which entails re-naming the 2nd set of vobs in numerical sequence following the 1st set of vobs), then adding to this, the 1st side's VTS_1.0.ifo file (I found including this file gives ifoedit some place to start). Then in ifoedit select 'create new ifo's' and point it to the 1st vob. Once processed I had a valid titleset of about 6Gb in size, ran this through dvd2one to get to 4.36Gb then burned
Movie only DVD9 to DVDR guide.

you r missing a step. your process doesnt work for all "flippers". This is due to Vob ID numbering. e.g. If u do "A Time to Kill" with your method, Side 2 will play before Side 1.

Before you renumber the VOBs of the 2nd side, open vobedit and do a join with the vobid one more than the last vob id on the 1st side. then rename the vobedit output as mentioned in your process. this will make sure that all the chapters play in the right sequence.

    You will need VOBEdit, Ifoedit

Create Folder for side1. Now rip side 1 and put them in that directory

Create Folder for side2, rip and move the files to that directory.

rename the files in side 2 directory as follows: vts_01_001, _002, etc.

Now open vobedit and join the files in the side 2 directory. Make sure the VOBID as requested by vobedit is 1 more than the last vobid in the last vob file in directory 1(This may sound confusing but its not hard. If necessary find a VOBEdit guide in the forums for help). Now rename the new vob Files made with VOBEdit as VTS_01_5.vob, 6.vob (assuming VTS_01_4 was the last file in directory 1).

now run ifoedit and create new ifo files.

now use a compressing program (shrink, dvd2one, etc) or a DL disc

    all the best

  9. Denvers Dawgs, I have followed your method to the letter, but it isn't working for Starship Troopers. After going through the whole process, I get a movie of about 5.8 gig. I then put it through DVD2ONE, it runs to 110% ( ? ), and gives a final movie size of 4.8 gig .??????????????????????

Also I noticed in DVD2ONE that the movie comes up at 2hrs & 15 Mins, but according to the case, and my DVD player, it should only be about 2hrs 10 mins max.

Anyone know what's going on here?

    help appreciated.

  11. letitbleed, yes, the guide is basically the same as the method outline by Denvers Dawgs.

I have just put the output from DVD2ONE ( 4.8 gig ) back through DVD2ONE again, came out the correct size this time. I don't know WTF is going on here, but seem to have got over it by processing twice. When I've written the DVDR ( won't be tonight, I'm off to work in a bit ) I'll let you all know if it was a success or not.

    Cheers
