    Ok, here it is.
I want to convert DivX or Xvid (I'm not quiet sure what it is - The movie ring deity) to vcd so I can watch it in my DVD Player. Now, in order to do that, I first of all open the file in virtualdub and then save it as an uncompress file so I can convert it in Tmpgenc, I do that by simply pushing Video --> Direct stream copy and then audio --> full processing mode and then file --> save as avi... . Now, the problem is that when I do push save, it gives me an erorr that says "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format", any idea any1...?

  2. Your film is an xvid. Look at the description to the right of the number 2002. The audio is probably an ac3 audio. Download gspot from the tools section on the left. It will tell you what kind of codec is needed for the audio and video portions. It will also tell you what kind of audio file it is. If it is an ac3, there are instructions on this site on how to convert it to an uncompressed wav file. Basically you are going to save it as a wave file using direct stream copy in virtual dub. Actually v-dub is not converting it to a wav file, it is saving it exactly as it is but giving it a wav extension. You then change the file extension from wav to ac3. Load the file into goldwave (available in the tools section of this website) and convert it to a wav file.

Gspot also will tell you if you have the required codec installed on your system, because it looks like you don't. Install the required codec(s) before doing anything else. Then you can follow the rest of Laddydaddy's advice.
