Being pretty to backing up DVDs to SVCDs I have come across a couple of tutorials which conflict in the 'Audio' settings.

In one document it tells one to De-Select the 'Dolby Surround Downmix' while the other doc says to leave this selected.

What is correct or when should one use these settings...

    Regards

  2. I suppose it depends on what you're doing with the audio. If you're converting the AC3 to a WAV then you would downmix, where as you wouldn't downmix if you were just extracting the AC3 to convert to WAV using a seperate program. I think that makes sense.

    G'Day CloneAD,

    Thanks for the reply.

Well.... I guess what I'm doing here is backing up my existing DVD library onto SVCD.

I do this by first using DVD DECRYPTER then DVD2AVI then finish off with TMPGEnc then burn.

So based on this info, what would be the prefered setting ?
