  1. Hi,
I am wondering if there is a simple way to convert a home DVD movie with Linear PCM audio to DV format (without using several different softwares to extract the audio and video and ......)? Is there any software out there which does this convertion? All I am trying to do is to make a NTSC DV from my NTSC home movie (with Linear PCM audio) in order to convert the NTSC DV to PAL DV by Canopus ProCoder (Canopus does not suport vob) and then once again make a PAL moive. Thanks for your help.

I don't know of a VOB to DV converter, but there are a wide range of tools that will allow you to do the steps (albeit more manually). Use DVD2AVI to create your AVI. I've never used DV. I'm assuming it's a selectable codec, much like any other. I don't see why you couldn't select it as your output codec in DVD2AVI. VirtualDub could be used to merge the Video and Audio from DVD2AVI. Someone with more experience with DV should be able to clarify.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...

  3. Yes you convert an mpeg into DV in vdub mod. You need to install a DV codec (for example the Panasonic DV codec).

You may also want to try this program:
