  1. I get this error from DVD2ONE with trying to backup my Simpsons 2nd season dvd's. I rip with smartripper...the movie files only. Then I create ifo's with ifo edit. When that is done and I'm ready to use DVD2ONE I click start and this window pops up :unable to open vobfileset 1 in directory.... I tell ya these episode dvd back-ups are a pain!

I'm also having to deal with the Sopranos episodes being out of order! Sheesh!!!

Can anyone help? Whats the best way to go about backing up episode dvd's!!

    thanks chaps

  2. I don't know for sure but can't you just use DVDX Copy and use two discs? That way you have zero quality loss and everything would be intact. Just a thought however I don't have any episode DVD's.

  3. yeah but I just bought DVD2ONE and I wanna take full advantage of it, and I dont wanna shell out a c-note for dvdxcopy. Besides I wouldnt want them on 2 dvd's that equals 8 dvd's for the whole season instead of the OG four. Just my presonal preference...

  4. I thought the new version of DVD2one allows you to do a 1:1 copy. Is that not the case?

Anyway people here are always talking about using IFOedit then using DVD2one helps but again I haven't tried it myself.

  6. Well if you just bought the latest copy of DVD2ONE (V1.1.1) then try (just for fun) copy the entire dics to your harddrive with Smartripper or DVDDecrypter, load the directory into DVD2ONE choose MOVIE ONLY in COPY MODE, and then just choose the largest duration set on the next screen, then the program should extract and compress the movie only, leaving you with a VIDEO_TS folder just for burning.

  7. Bota2112 I fixed my problem what I did was rip the DVD to the hard drive with smartripper then take the DVD out of the drive then rip it from the folder to save it to and rip it again to other folder in the hard drive. Give it a try

your problem sounds like u didnt rename the vobs, for example

the movie vobs you ripped might look like this or similar:

    VTS_02_1.VOB
    VTS_02_2.VOB
    VTS_02_3.VOB

but when u created Ifos in ifoedit the ifos will have a title set of 01, for example

    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP

u need to make sure the the title set numbers (which are the 2 numbers after the VTS )match for the ifos and those vobs.

if your created ifos have a title set of VTS_01 u need to make sure to rename your vobs to VTS_01, if the title set numbers dont match DVD2ONE cant process the vobs

    hope this solves your problem

  10. I just wants to mention that those errors can be caused by bad sectors on the HD.

To make sure its not the case, do a ckeck or low level scan of the disk.
