I'd try some of the "proven" low cost media. Ritek G03 or Accu media would be my choices to try.

  4. might help if you gave model information for your sony dvd player. Then another person who has the dvd player and has a dvd burner could give you some advice.

Me personally, I have a apex 1100W and the following DVD-R media plays on the apex, PS2, and about 5 other dvd players that I have tested it on (cannot remember the brands or models):

    kypermedia and supermedia unbranded

my burner is a pioneer DVR-105.

I have used it to burn straight images with dvddecrypter and using nero expresses dvd program. All play perfectly. I have also burned CVD's into DVD's with movei factory 2.

I agreed with the Ritek DVD-R, cause I'm using it now, so far so good. Ritek 1X DVD-R can burn at stable 2X, with Sony DRU-500A (which i have) and firmware 1.0f.

For Accu, 1 word.. 'NIGHTMARE'! Lost about 15 some pcs out of 50pcs.
