    Hi all

After spending the last week sorting out all the problems, from green screens to upside down images to out of synk to getting all the sound and video codecs sorted out etc (I think I was on of those that had everything going against me!) I finally managed to convert my Divx/Xvid files to (S)VCD (both) and I was happy… what I do is use virtualdub freeze mp3 to cut the divx file (after conversion they never fit on one CD) with direct stream copy option on both video and audio and save as avi. I then use virtualdub (normal version) to extract the audio from the video with full processing option and save as wav. I then use tmpgenc to join them and convert to PAL VCD, I choose PAL option, video (non interlace) 1:1VGA, select source range, full screen keep aspect ratio, everything else is on automatic!. It worked fine up until yesterday when I downloaded a couple of new xvid files. I did the same with them but the end result is a VERY JERKY film. I then went to framerate conversion (how to in dvdrhelp) and found that It could be a question of framerating the avi file to 25.000fps with virtualdub before using tmpgenc. Thing is I now have new out of synk problems. I must be stupid but I cant get it to go in synk again, do I still do everything as usual but before using tmpgenc change framerate with virtualdub (normal version) and only then use TMPgenc? But this gives an out of synk end result...

I need help as I have tried a number of variations and NOW the picture is perfect but the sound never matches the picture whatever I do ist either too slow or too fast… What is the new process for doing this framerate conversion, including cutting the original avi and extracting sound? Can someone explain? You kind souls are my last resort, I managed, thank to this forum to sort everything else out by reading other peoples problems and consulting the guides but I just cant figure this one out, I am sure its logical and simple but I don’t know how to do it

By the way If I alter framerate with TMPgenc (with option, do not framerate) and save as video only it works but takes ages to do this twice...once to convert framerate and another to change do (S)VCD cant I do the same thing with VDub withot being out of synk?... I have to work for a living!!!!!

    Thanks in advance

    Paulo

You must resample the audio to 25 fps(4% faster audio). You can use besweet to this. After you have converted the video to 25 fps and extracted the audio to wav resample it with besweet. Read step 2a here how to use besweet:

Then convert to mpg and you should have no sync problems.
