  1. Hi,
I have an .avi file, and it is 25fps, which is PAL format. I want to make a VCD out of it. My dvd player won't play PAL format, so I need to change it to NTSC. Can TMPG do this for me? Can I encode in TMPG, and choose a regular ntsc template? And would I choose the 23.976fps template?

Also, will converting from 25fps to 23.976fps make the sound go out of sync?

Thanks for any help, I've never had to convert from PAL to NTSC, so I'm not quite sure how to go about it.
I'm fairly new at all this, so please explain in simple terms.
    Thanks again....

  3. It looks like I might be able to figure it out with the guide, but I have just one question?

I can't figure out how to encode only the video...the guide says to select "video only", but I cannot find this option.....

So I decompress the audio and save it as WAV, then I follow the steps to convert the framerate in TMPGEnc. Can I then use the WAV as the audio source and the converted video as the video source in TMPGEnc to create my .MPG? Will there be any sync. troubles? And can I make an XVCD out of it if I choose? QUESTIONS

You have to slow down the separated wav audio in besweet or goldwave

Beesweet is easier, there is an option in the GUI's main window ( FRC presets). Then convert it to mpeg1 l2 then mux it back with the NTSC video with tmpeg or bbmpeg
Anyone tired of his old DVD burner? Why put it into the trash? Contact me! :))))

  6. You could also use coold edit for the audio, that's what I do. and I find it easy to use. Just make sure you use high precision for high quality. Also use windows calculator
As for the video part I would recommend using virtualdub to framserve the video to TMPGEnc for example. Using TMPGEnc's internal filter have failed me once, and the length of the final video was wrong in that case, and of course the result was out of sync. Next time I used virtualdub as a framserver, and i changed the framerate to NTSCfilm, and it worked like a charm.
I wanna be bigger, stronger, drive a faster car...
