I am having trouble converting avi files I have downloaded. One is a "spy movie" and one is about a "cruise ship". When I convert these avi's with Tmpgenc plus 2.510.49.157 the video is running too fast and jumpy but the audio is fine. One movie is a 23.97fps. I have tried to convert to 29.97fps with Tmpgenc with the same result. The other is 12.500fps and i tried to convert it to 25.00fps with the same result. Here are the steps I have gone through.
1. download movie as two avi's.
2. combine the two avi's in Virtualdub.
3. Check video for freezes and repair as needed.
4. Convert to an .m2v and .wav file with Tmpgenc.
5. Used IFOedit to author the vob files.
6. Use Nero to burn the dvd.
What am I doing wrong?

Can you tell me the frame rate of the MPEG that you are writing to your CD-R's is? This sounds a lot like something that happened when I accidentally picked a wrong setting and TMpgnc doubled my framerate and my player tried to play something at 60fps.
