Copy the command line from BeSweet and run a dos session (Start->Run and type command (Win98) or cmd (NT/XP))

Paste the command into the DOS window and you should see the error message.

My guess is that the WAV is 8-bit and BeSweet only supports 16-bit. You'll need to re-extract the WAV in VDub, but select 16-bit in the conversion options.

  2. I have some PAL (25fps) avi's I wanna convert to NTSC film (23.976). I have used virtualdub and avifrate to change the frame rate without issue, however the audio gets bent after re-encoding. Would it be correct to assume that:

    1. Strip audio/vid streams
    2. save/convert the avi to 23.976 (no-audio)
3.load the stripped wav file into wavworks and 'compress' audio from 25 to 23.976.
    4. re-encode the modified individual avi/wav files.

edit:earlier in post you indicate wavworks on this site, damn if I can find it. What other tool would be used to compress the audio??

Anyone who has accomplished this or has any advice on the above would be appreciated.

There's plenty of different tools that'll do the audio stretching (the other steps are fine)

My favourites are BeSweet and Goldwave - I'm sure both of them are in the tools section.

Also, if you are encoding to (S)VCD, BeSweet can produce the MP2 audio directly, that you just Mux back with the video using BBMpeg or TMPGenc's MPEG tools.

  4. Stop. You have the same problem I do.
Don't go down a false path, it will only take you further away from the solution.
