i'm new to this game, is wmv the same as asf?

Short answer: Yes
Long Answer: ASF is the old file extension for Microsofts Proprietary (Did I spell that right?) format. WMV is their new name basically short for Windows Media Video. But they both use the same file format, conspiracy I think so. Hope This Helps.

thanx for that, i have a wmv file that i'm trying to fix with virtudub 1.3, but am confused.
the file is corrupt and virtudub wont handle it, so can i fix it with VD. i've looked under the different headings but cant find any command to fix corrupt file.
any ideas or maybe other programmes that can handle wmv files, free of course. thanx -
Look for a program called ASFTools, that should help solve your problem.
