burning -r problem please assist most urgent

I have burnt 10 mpeg files to -r and they played on the stand alone player just great.

Now for some stupid reason the burn only lets me play the finnnished disc on a computer only .
I have used copyto dvd. . nero and both give the same now.

have i just got a lot of dud discs? or it there something that i sould do or have forgotten to do .
this is the same on either -r or -rw

Can you explain your problem more fully.

Are they MPEG1 or MPEG2
Which DVD player do you have
Did you author the MPEGs as a DVD or just write them to the DVD as data

The more info you give, the easier it will be to help you out

i used mpg2 and author the MPEGs as a DVD
Pioneer dvr 105 model
I have tried 2 author and burning programs . its real hit and miss.
some work and some dont from the files. real strange
