  1. To any ffmpeg Guru(s)-

If you have a film in DIVX format and then the matching .SUB file that goes along with said film. Is it possible to input these files into ffmpeg some how, and then flatten/ permanently print the subtitles on the film when you creating a svcd....?

I've tried doing it by inputing the film in the "Open" section and then inputting the .sub file in the "Load subs" section and then .IFO file into the load "Sub palette". Before I did all of this, I set-up ffmpeg with the preset for SVCD NTSC.

Well, 12 hours later I have a nice looking SVCD of the film, but no subs on it....?

I have all the files installed for mencoder and the subtitle fonts. If that helps at all....?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated,

  3. Well, I didn't input the sub-pallette this time, and still no subs showing up on the final SVCD render....

I'm really starting to believe that this isn't possible on the mac. I've searching this forum for months on how to this and I've yet come across anyone asking this question... Which I think is odd. That their has to be people out there who want to do this sort of thing.

Take a super clean DIVX rip of a foreign film and then also have the english subs that came along with the film. Then combining the film and the subs to the film in a final SVCD output....

    This can't be done??!?!?

  4. Check the "mplayer decode" box.

  5. I can asure you that there are others who would like to get subtitles on SVCD's; I'm one of them!

At the moment I'm having enough problems just to get a SVCD or DVD which is in sync but when that is fixed then I would really like to be able to apply subtitles too.

  6. What I want to do is create a SVCD from DIVX film with .SUB file for the film. Then final output would be ONE SVCD file with subtitles permanently burned on the film.... You can do this with mplayer? Maybe it's possible to just create DIVX with the subtitles permanently burned on it.... Then I would take that file and create a SVCD from there......?

  7. You can do this with ffmpegX, proceed as you were doing but also check the "mplayer decode" checkbox in the options tab.

Yep, it seems to be going good!!! I am rendering it right now and I hit the preview button and everything looks cool. The subtitles are showing up perfectly....!!!!!

    Thanks again for the help!
