  1. Hi there.
When I use "Scan video stream for errors..." with VirtualDub on my divx files, the end result is says something like, "0 frame bad, 0 frames good but undecodable." What does that mean?

That means no problems and you can use your file as is! 8)

  3. LOL! Who ever thought that 0 frames good would mean everything is well. Thank you.

The report goes like this: X frames bad, Y frames good but endecodable, (X+Y) frames masked. When you save avi, all the masked frames (bad and undecodable) are not saved as part of the stream.

Yes, 0 frames bad and 0 frames good (and undecodable) is what we all hope for when we scan!

  5. Zippy...
when you 'save avi', will virtualdub replace the bad and undecodeable with something else (like a duplicated frame close to the bad frame), or will they just be left out? If you had many bad frames, just removing them would cause desynchronisation, right?

When saving the file the bad frames are lost, both video and audio, and that segment of the movie is gone. It should not cause any sync problems, on the contrary it helps prevent sync problems when converting the files with any mpeg encoder. 8)
