  1. Hey all. I am trying to encode a .asf file to mpeg and I can't get tmpgenc to open the file. I have read everything I can find on here and it says that that program should open the files. I can't get it to. Is there another set of codecs that I need to get tmpgenc to open that file? Or some other program that I would need to install to do this?
    Thank you all

  5. Try TMPGenc - you'll need to set the priority of the directshow encoder to high

  6. I believe Virtual Dub no longer supports .asf, but version 1.3c is the latest version that does support it.

Try ASFTools. Can convert to AVI and extract audio to WAV among other things. Suffers heavily from sound sync problems, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little determination.
