    I now have a Pioneer dvr-105 and also have an LG dvd-rom drive.
    The LG drive is now locked to region 2 but the Pioneer has 4 more chances to change the region before it locks to whatever its on at the time.

    Does anybody know of a way to PERMANENTLY make dvd drives region free? I don't want to accidently end up with two drives locked to the same region.
    Is there any dvd-rom drives out there that are totally region free?

    You gotta check out www.rpc1.com.

    Pioneer DVR 105 positive (also with patch to burn Ritek G3 at 2x),
    LG: you have to be more specific. Check there.

    And yes, the MadDog DVD-ROM EP-8216 is region free per se / out of the box.

    Anyone know if this software would work on the Pioneer DVR-105 without patching the firmware?
