    I have a pioneer dvdr105 drive and I cant seem to rip faster than 2x. My drive reads dvd's at 12x....does anyone know how I can make the dvd ripping speed faster??? thanks

    The 105 burner can't rip faster than 2x.

    Get a DVD-ROM for this purpose. Where do you live? If in the US - then get the MadDog 16x from CompUSA. Cheap and fast. Mine was a special and less than $20 after mail-in. It ripped average 9.3x / max 12.3 on a disc last night. I have actually never checked before how fast ist is. And it is....

    ok thanks for the info...is it possible to upgrade the firmware or somehow hack my 105 drive to get faster ripping speeds? if so how much risk is involved..? thanks
