Hi,
I'm a complete newbie to video stuff and would appreciate any help!
I did a test vidcap from my brand-new Asus V8200 (wonderful card!) and SB Live! Value (not 5.1) of about 3 minutes using Digital VCR and the ASUS codec.
I then tried to cut-off the beginning and ending of the clip using in- and out-points and output back to an AVI.
My (first) problems are:
1. I never did get Premiere to "clip" at these points (the full source clip appears in the output). I tried too many different settings to remember, let alone post.
2. The original 24 MB clip balooned to 3 GB!
Any help to get me over this hump is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Don't know about the ASUS codec, the following procedure may help you solve your editing problems. First, when you load your video into Premiere, you'll get a production window. From the production window, pick your in and out points for basic editing, then click the "insert" icon at the right bottom side of the production window. This will insert the edit into the timeline. Repeat this process until your video is completely edited. Then close the production window and now you can add your extra audio and tracks, transitions, etc. If you have transitions inserted, you'll have to render them, then you can either export to tape or export the timeline to whatever type file you want. Hope this helps you out.
