Thanks to some great people on this site, and especially one very generous person, who gave me very detailed directions, I can now make backup copies of my older DVD movies in VCD format and play them on my computer. I wanted to learn to do that, but what I really want to be able to do is copy all of my old VHS tapes onto CD-R Discs and hope that someone out there has mastered a quick and easy method to do this and would be willing to share the information with me, putting it into layman's terms.
I have all the equipment I need, TV capable computer, cables, convertor box to plug everything into, now just need to figure out how to do it.
I have many, many 8 hour VHS tapes, with TV series programs on them, some of which aired for 5 or more season, so not only do I want to be able to condense these down, but put them on the discs that do not take as much storage space.
Any and all help will be gratefully appreciated.
