I have captured 2 hours of DV Type 1 video from my Sony TRV350. If I cut, say 50 clips out of the two hours, and I create a computer file using the same settings as the captured video, will the PC files of these clips be the exact same quality of the source capture or will I lose any quality?
Especially if I use them again in a new project?
TIA!

As long as you don't re-encode, there is no quality loss.

I use Ulead VS 6.02 and 7.0 when I do this. Ulead goes through the "render" routine, but since I am using the exact same settings as I captured with, to save a PC file (AVI), I think it is just "pulling" the clips from the source (2 hour) video file.
Am I correct in assuming this? I know what assuming does?

If you have 2hrs of DV, edit it down to 1hr, export as DV, you get the same quality as before. It simply copies the information.
Make sure you export as DV. I do not use Ulead so I couldn't tell if that is what you picked.
