    What is the longest length for miniDV tapes that you can buy and where can I get it? The longest I've seen is 120/180 mins (SP/LP).

    I think that's the limit. However, be aware that if you record in LP instead of SP I've read where you may only be able to playback that LP tape in the device it was recorded. I stick with SP to avoid any future playback problems in other miniDV devices.
