  1. i have a few truncated avi files. they dont work because the codec is at the end of the file. so is there any way to add a codec to the end of these files and make them work? thanx

    Actually it's not the codec that is at the end of the file, but the file information blocks are there. Like the header being a trailer.

    There are some programs that can fix these files. Do an internet search with "AVIFIX" or "FIXAVI" an you will find a vew. If the problem is only the truncation, generic AVI correction will suffice.

    On a couple of cases I was able to fix the AVIs with VirtualDUB, by checking the Popup Extended Open Options and checking the appropriate options there (which one is needed was found by experimenting and depends on the AVI in question).
