  1. I’m not sure what specific forum to put this.

Here’s my problem. I have Macross Plus Volumes 1 & 2 on two separate DVD’s with two episodes on each DVD. I want to burn all four episodes on one DVD-R while editing out the episode titles and credits between each episode.

Knowing the frustration of trying to edit MPEG-2’s accurately and exactly, I would like to convert the VOB’s to AVI’s that I ripped to my hard drive with DVD Decrypter without demuxing the audio and video.

I have tried using DVD2AVI and then remuxing the audio and video with TMPGEnc and VirtualDub, but the audio never is in synch with the video.

I have tried loading and editing the VOB’s in VirtualDubMod and then saving as AVI’s, but there is pixelization and video artifacts in the first five to ten seconds of each file.

I have tried renaming the VOB file extensions to MPG and M2V; open the files in Premiere, VideoStudio 7, and Vegas Video; edit; then save as AVI’s; but the clips have no sound, have incorrect timecodes and are clipped short.

I’m at a total loss of what else to try. Can anyone of you please help?

    Tom

Go to the tools section to the left. Click on Virtualdub-MPEG2 and download VirtualDub-MPEG2 v1.5.1. It allows you to import MPEG2 and VOB files and convert them to AVI's.

    Hope this helps.

There are VOB cutting tools out there, have you tried using any of them?

Also, I would think that you could do this with TMPEGnc.

  5. I have recently done the same thing. I ripped specific episode .vob's and want to convert them to mpeg1, but i used the vdub-mpeg2 and converted the .vob to avi (but audio was out of sync after this), then used tmpgenc to convert to mpeg1, and audio was still out of sync. Is there another tool that will convert .vob's to mpeg1?
