  1. Hi there,

I am really going nuts behind my pc right now...

I was trying to play a movie i downloaded, I'd already seen it once, but now i wanted to put it on videotape for my parents, but I only see a gray screen!!! And i've already watched it before, and then it all worked perfectly. The strange thing is now that when i open the file in VirtualDub, i CAN see the image, whil in any other player (WMP, BSPlayer etc) it only gives a gray screen! VirtualDub says in the file information that it uses the "MS MPEG-4 3688 V3"" codec for video, while the other players seem to be using the "Microcrap MPEG-4 Video decompressor"

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I could just let VirtualDub recompres the movie in DivX 5.0.3 format, but I just want things to work right on my pc!!!

  2. I think ffdshow would solve your problem. You can tell it to handle MP41, MP42, or MP43 files rather than the MS decoder, I have found it most useful for getting around problems like this.
