Everytime i open Smartripper, a message pops up and said..no ASPI-adapter available.

Download and run this freeware utility called "ForceASPI" and that should fix the problem.

It means you need an ASPI layer. It's how your drives communicate and exchange information. In this case, it's how it exchanges information with Smartripper. At least, that is how I understand it.

What you need to do is look for and download ForceAspi. Make sure you get version 4.60 (1021). It claims it's for Windows versions earlier than XP, but it works just fine on XP (if you are using XP). After you do the install, make sure you reboot. Then, you can do an aspi check and it will probably say everything is functioning just fine.

Okay, i've just downloaded the file, but i can't seem to find the setup file.

Just double click on the file and it should put an icon on your desktop so open that and follow the on-screen directions.

The file is a zipped file about 150KB in size so you need to unzip the file using winzip. When you have unzipped the file it will be an ".exe file so just open the file or program.

Download Force ASPI v1.7 using THIS link :

Then click on the word "Download" in the middle of the page. This should open another page and start downloading after a few seconds.

1: Download "Force ASPI".
2: Unzip the file you just downloaded.
3: Locate the folder you just unzipped to and there is a file there ending with ".exe" double click on it.
4: Follow the three step on-screen directions.
