  1. I've followed Trilight's Uberguide and until now everything has run smoothly, but when i try to import the subtitles like it instructs me to do, Scenarist comes with the following errors:

Info Checking Subtitle File. Stream ID = 1, File = (H:\TRAININGDAY\dif4u\VTS01\subs\VTS_01_VSUB_P1-00-English.sst)
Error The subtitle start timecode should be bigger than background video start.

Error The subtitle start timecode should be bigger than background video start.
Error The subtitle start timecode should be bigger than background video start.
Error The subtitle start timecode should be bigger than background video start.
Error The subtitle start timecode... (continues with 105 lines in total of the "The subtitle start timecode etc."-error for each language i try to import)

I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong here. I've tried searching for a similar problem on doom9, i got a hit but it didn't help me (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43230

My .sst file looks like the following:

    0001 00:00:15:20 00:00:18:18 VTS_01_VSUB_P1-00-English_0001.bmp

    All help is appreciated.

I've had nightmares trying to master Scenarist and each aspect. The errors you are having, I think, are caused by a simple problem.

    Let me do some guessing:

You have encoded your video with CCE. CCE insists on putting 1:00:00 as timestamp to the first GOP, meaning that a 2 hour movie will have timestamps between 1:00:00 and 2:59:59. Your ripped subtitles have the correct timestamps. So, the first subtitles have timestamps with values BEFORE the start of the movie.

You can check this out easily by looking at the timeline markings on the top of the track view in Scenarist. It will probably show 1:00:00 for the first scene.

If my guessing is right, you can use Restream to reset the timestamps to start at 0:00:00. For future encodings, make sure you check CCE settings so that the first GOP get's a timestamp of 0:00:00.

Hope my guessing is right. If not, please post more details about the video stream timestamps (start-end).
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
