  1. Can anyone help? When I extract the .dat files to my HD, using isobuster.
I then extract the video/audio files using simple de-multiplex in TMPGenc.
Once I have these files I then open Ifoedit 0.95 - dvd author. The problem I have is that ifoedit does not recognise the files. If I click "All Files", then I can load them. Once I start running ifoedit, the program crashes. I do not have any problems with mpeg2 files. I find I have to put the .dat file that I've saved as a mpeg through Ulead dvd moviefactory, which is a bit long winded.
Is there a way to put vcd onto dvd using ifoedit?

Your skipping all of the middle steps. Start in the guides section. You must demultiplex your video and audio. Resample your audio to 48Khz (it's at 44.1Khz for VCD by default). You can use SSRC to do this (find it in the tools section). Your crashes may be related to the fact that your audio is not DVD compliant.

Unless IFOEdit has changed (it may have..i haven't used it in a while), it expects VOB files, not raw MPEG. You will need to get DVD authoring software to author your files to DVD. This will create the IFO's and VOB's for you. Simply feed them the demuxed video, and resampled audio.

djrumpy: Ifoedit can author mpg files...but it is not that stable and reliable.

I would recommend try another method like either ulead moviefactory or use http://www.svcd2dvdmpg.com and author with any authoring tool(not ifoedit...).

That would have been useful when I was using it. I actually e-mailed the author once, complaining about crashes with MPEG. He didn't understand why I would want to import mpeg into IFOEdit. Apparently now he does...

I never had any luck getting IFOEdit to not crash doing much of anything. I'll stick to tried and true methods.

  5. Thanks for all the help. I've got svcd2dvdmpg, but not tried it yet. I've been using ulead dvd moviefactory for my vcd's and ifoedit for svcd's.

    Cheers
