hiya, i looked at the tutorial on the front of the site to use dvd2one, and it says i need all kinds software inc. ifo edit, but i tried just doin my own thing which seemed right to me before to see the result and it seems like i dont need to do all the ifo edit stuff and moving vob files round like it says on the tutorial for this software, seems so time consuming the way its layed out, what i did, was simply rip the dvd with dvd decrypter to a folder then i created a new folder called video_ts, then i ran dvd2one choose where the files where and te destination to the video_ts folder and started and that was all, it was a 7gb disc it was converting, afterwards the new folder was about 4.4gb i opened nero dragged all the files and stuck em in the video_ts folder in nero then copied.
the disc was perfect. all menu's full movie no notisable quality loss.
i have version 1.1.1 of this software, alls i was wundering if theres sumthing ive missed really it just seemed so simple i dont understand why the tutorial goes into having to use ifo edit and movingvob files about when it just seemed so easy the way i done it.
any replies welcome, and am pretty new to this by the way so be gentle if i am wrong in what am saying.
thanks

your right in what you have done.
looks like you are reading a guide about episodes before 1.1.1 came out.

next time make video_ts VIDEO_TS and add a folder called AUDIO_TS with it this will make your copy more compadible, also download IfOedit and reopen the ifo file that is in the VIDEO_TS folder and just get VTS sectors(this only takes about 5 secs) to make sure everything is alright with the movie, you should also check it in your software dvd player to make sure that it is playable by just opening the playlist and adding the VIDEO_TS folder as disk.
Thanks alot,

how do i know if the vts sector is ok in ifo edit though? am not really sure what am lookin for i havn't really used ifo edit, also in nero the wizard automaticly creates a audio_ts folder so am ok with that

I always open both the IFO files inside my VIDEO_TS folder, then select get VTS sectors it will then say that it is going to resave VTS sectors just select ok then if it has to correct any it will ask you to re-save them just hit ok for each, ushally DVD2-1 will have this done but this is just to make sure, it has corrected some for me in the past (chapter problems), Now with Nero I can't help you, I use to use Nero but I stopped after I was having compadibility problems ( I guess nero has fixxed this on the lastest release) but I never used the wizard I always used the iso/udf mode, I now use record now max.
Thanks alot,

i have record now max but havn't actualy used it yet, i seen the wizard at the front n closed it and opened nero, lol
are people finding it better? and if so in what way?
thanks -
I use Nero. If you use the DVDvideo template it creates VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS for you, just drop the dvd2one output into the VIDEO_TS folder and hit burn.............
