    How do you get tempenc to convert an avi file into mpg when its encoded with XVID, i have the xvid codec installed and can watch the files perfectly but when i try to convert the file the audio is present but the video is a black screen.

    Any help anyone can give is most appreciated.

    Did you adjust the Direct Show priority like the TMPGEnc Common Problems guide said to?

    An easier way I have found than changing the VSAPI settings in TMPGenc is by using Nic's FourCC changer which comes with the XVid codec install.
    Drop the xvid into the 4CC changer, change it to a divx, then convert no sweat.
