The audio encoder for TMPGEnc is notorious for that phenomenon. You may want to use the audio from the DivX file for an audio source.
Hello. -
So first I merge the avi and then I convert to mpg. What program is god for megring avi?

I would try using virtualdub and ripping the .avi audio as a wav and use the wav as the audio source in tmpgenc. Once they are in mpeg I have had good results demultiplexing the mpegs into .m2v and .mp2 and adding together all the .mp2's and .m2v's seperately then remultiplexing the final .mp2 and .m2v..........hope that helps!
P.S. - You could also take the joined mpeg you have where the sound is off, demultiplex it and use virtualdub to extract the .wav files, use goldwave to add the .wav files and use tempgenc to convert the .wave to .mp2 then remultiplex.......but it seems like more work!
