I have encountered a strange problem when authoring a dvd in ntsc format. The problem has something to do with
the framesize used in the mpeg2 file.
If i author the ntsc dvd with a mpeg2 file in 352x240 then it plays very jerky and skips randomly on my philips dvd711 player.
If it's authored with a mpeg2 file in 352x480 or 704x480 or 720x480 then it plays perfectly.
I do all my dvd authoring with spruceup, but i have also tried dvdit pe, same result. I have also encoded the 352x240 mpeg2 file in different bitrates, same result.
This problem is only on ntsc format, pal works perfectly on all framesizes. I'm living in a pal country so this problem is not that seriosly.
I have also tried with a mpeg1 file in 352x240 same problem. I hope someone has an answer why using a mpeg file within the dvd spec doesn't work.
