converting .mov

I have a short .mov video that i wanna convert to avi or vcd anything but .mov. 1 prob. is the sound doesnt start until 5 or 10 sec into video, so when trying to convert with eo video it started sound same time as vid so was offsync. When i load into tmpg, it only loads video no audio. Can sum1 please help?

Have you tried the QT plugin for TMPG? Place the QTreader.vfp file into the same directory as TMPG and that's all. You should be able to open MOV's with no audio probs. Convert it to whatever you want (avi, mpg)

yes i have it. i put it in tmpg folder, nothing seemed to change.

Ah yes, I reread your post and I see you've already tried it in TMPG.

You could try to up the priority in the VFAPI settings. (options,environmental settings, VFAPI plugins, right-click on the pugin and raise the priority)

Others who've had this problem extract the sound to wav with another program (they've mentioned Total Recorder and Quicktime Pro) and use it in TMPG. Just search the forum with "mov audio" and you should find somethingto help. I don't know if Total Recorder is free or not. I know you have to pay for QTPro.

well i upped the priority on qtreader and tmpg loaded audio but none came out in end. extracting audio was my next guess. thanx.
