Hi,
I had the same problem.. you need a Mpeg-2 patch. here is the link for it. Good luck

Forget the dazzle codec. Use the standard Microsoft DV codec, capture in Type 2 (important!) and everything should work. A quote from Mainconcept (producer of the Dazzle codec): this codec doesn't work outsinde a mainconcept appplication. You have to buy the standalone version in order to do this.

What windows are you using? on win2k they can be deinstalled via sound/multimedia

Hi.
Dragonsf, I think you misunderstood. THE RIPPER already capture with DVC with MPEG2 high bitrate, but he want to re-encode to SVCD ot VCD. I saw somebody post the link that show the method how to re-encode with TMPeg.
I've already tried it. Got same problem. I'm using win2000 and also tried with win98. Same thing TMPeg did not accept the clip from DVC. What I did is use the DVD2AVI framesever to TMPeg. I could tell the result was not good as I expect.
You might try to Demultiplex and Mux again using TMPeg before re-encode. I never try this before. Hope it help.

You need a mpeg2 decorder.
Installed the shareware player from http://www.elecard.com -
Ok, maybe I didn't understand theripper, but I thought it was the same problem I get: I captured video with mpeg-2 in DV-Format at 3500 kbps and wanted them to convert into SVCD. Only after deinstallation of the MainConcept Codec I was able to use tmpgenc to convert these files (and only Type 2).

Just use DVD2AVI to open the Dazzle capped mpeg2 file. It will also demux the mpa to another file for you.
Since you installed Media Manniacs DVD player that came with the Dazzle software you don't need any other Mpeg2 codec.

Produce the dazzle mpeg2 using Dazzle's default editor. Use Fast Rendering. This will make a copy of your mpeg2 which will be without error and will be recognized by tmpgenc.

Here's what I do:
- Capture in Dazzle DVC2 using the DVD profile (720x480,8Mbs)
- Use DVD2AVI to create a d2v project file and demux the audio
- Load the d2v as the video in TMPGEnc, load the mpeg demuxed audio as the audio iin TMPGEnc
- Set your encoding settings to SVCD specs or select the premade SVCD profiles in TMPGEnc and encode.

trust me, do what i suggested and you will be surprised that it works, because it worked with me.
