I have a question... When I use IC to backup my movies, and I leave the video at 100% quality... why does IC still transcode the video? It doesn't make sense to me. Is it b/c I've taken one of the audio streams out?

I don't know the answer but why would you even use Instant Copy if the original DVD wil fit on one DVDR? For those type DVD's I just rip them with SmartRipper into a VIDEO_TS folder and burn that folder directly to DVD-R using RecordNow Max. The whole process takes me 30 minutes using 4x media.

The movies I'm using IC for are actually dual layer, but I want to keep all the special features and menu etc... If I change the special features to a low enough quality, I can keep the movie at 100%, yet fit the whole thing on one DVD-R. I'm really just wondering why IC would need to transcode anything if it's set at 100%. I don't like the idea of using IC's encoder as opposed to the one that was used by the production studio.
I tried just ripping the movie vob's right from the disc, then using IC to transcode the rest of the features and menu etc.. but i can't find any way to get new ifos that will work w/ the transcoded extras and the ripped vobs.
