  1. Im fairly new at this, ive only just recently got my pioneer dv-343, ive made xvcds as outlined in the guide and have been makin them at 2500bitrate. They play perfectly on my dvd player but will extensive use of xvcd high bit rate damage it, i ask to b sure, better safe than sorry ay. i dont wanna b sending it for repairs after a few weeks.

  2. I have no technical background to back this although I don't see how it would actually damage it. SVCD and DVD play as much as and even greater in high bitrate streams.

    And there's also a great concept behind a warranty

    It can play fine, OR
    It can't play nothing OR
    It can play with noise/frame dropped OR
    The DVD Player Unit freeze.
    There is no damage.
    The DVD Player Unit has a decoder program built on a chip (it's hardware and not software).
    Example: if you have a pirate CD Music. It can play or not in your CD Player, but not damage the machine.
