  1. I have a dvd player that will not play svcd, but will after the header trick. The problem is whenever I do this, the audio is screwed. I've done this many a times with different svcds and have never had one come out correctly. Is there something I'm missing?

  2. Are the files in sync when you play them thru media player? If they aren't in sync thru media player, then you got a whole different problem. Also, the SVCD heading trick won't work all the time. In that case, I reccommend a sub-$90 DVD player that will play a variety of formats. I got myself the Apex-1200 for $89CDN. Hope this helps.

  4. You have other problems than your DVD player.
You have sync problems when you are converting the video to SVCD

  5. i didn't encode any of the original svcd's. I can extract the video from the bin/cue and play with power dvd and it's perfect. It's after the header trick that I have the problem.

  7. yes, the original's are fine all the way through.

BTW, whenever I do the header trick at the end in TMP I always get the error

"3982982? packets caused a buffer underflow error The following mpg may cause errors when played back. I've always figured it's supposed to do that, but now I have to wonder if that's the problem. "

Not quoted exactly, but it's close.

  8. You may want to try demuxing the films in TPMG and muxing them in bbMpeg. For some reason bbMpeg does a better job of keeping the movies in sync. I can't promise it will work for you but it's worth a try. When you mux your films in bbMpeg you can choose whatever header you want for them in the "program stream settings" tab. The program is freeware available in the tools section of this page. There is also a great pictorial guide on how to use it to mux films at www.spawns.dk/svcd/bbmpeg.htm. Hope this works for you.

When you do your simple multiplex in TMPGEnc do you select Video CD (non standard)?
