  1. Hopefully the right forum...

I have a choice of .ts or .m2v & mp2 files that I want to encode... I've tried TMPGenc, it starts ok, but the video only encodes for a few minutes and then the video freezes on the screen or playback for the rest of the conversion

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks in Advance

m2v is a video file. mp2 is an audio file. if you want to make a vcd and the files are compliant, just multiplex them using tmpgenc mpeg tools in the file menu.

  4. Oddball resolution....544 by 480 @ 1830kb video and 48khz @ 192kbits sound.

    Oddball

    something should convert em...

I changed the mp2 extension to mpa and put em into MF2 and it converted to dvd format ok, took a long time of course, But checking the vobs, they playback ok for the whole movie.

    Thanks

  5. the way i do it to dvdr with a m2v and mp2 is as you have done rename the mp2 to mpa and author the dvd with ifoedit. It takes me about 15 mins then an hour to burn on single speed

  6. Ok, I found out that strangely enough If I do a simple multiplex in TmpGenc first, then it converts fine.

It only has problems when I choose the separate video & audio streams.

I'd like to find something faster to encode to standard mpg settings, But using TmpGenc's batch function and letting it run overnight works too, but wastes electricity and adds wear and tear as well other concerns.

CCE Basic doesn't work for me, it doesn't seem to like the oddball resolution.

    Cheers

A new processor done the trick for me. i am just doing a 1.5gb avi to 4.3gb mpg2 using 2 pass vbr on the dvd template with tmpgenc - its taking me 4hours

  8. I was wrong about working perfect... Once in a while it freezes tmpgenc.

It's fast enuf, 2.66 P4, but more speed would be handy!

  9. I am having a problem which is related to this topic....

I have a Pyro A/V link from ADS technologies which I am using to convert home movies and such to DV. I am using Adobe Premiere to capture the DV which is in AVI format. I then use Premiere's MPEG converter to convert to DVD format which is 2 files (an .m2v file and a .pcm file). I tried to use IFOedit to convert them to the files I need to have in order to use nero to burn to DVD (.vbo's, etc) but when I get them converted the sound is out of sync and is a bit garbled. Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong, or perhaps suggest a better way of doing what I am trying to do?

Currently I only have a 733Mhz P3 system with 1Gb of PC133 RAM so I am wondering if that might be part of my problem. I have a new P4 system in the works but will not have it for a little while.

Thanks in advance for your help...
