Hi there,
I am lining up to buy the Marvel G450eTV, however there's one thing I'm thinking about :
This card's max framesize capture is 704x480, whereas the DVD format has a 720x576 framesize. So, I was wondering what should I do in order to capture DVD compatible videos ?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that one solution would be to capture at 704x480 Huffy and then, change the framesize while encoding to DVD (Mpeg2) with TMPGEnc
My questions are:
1) Won't this resizing result in a loss of quality and a "stretching" of the original picture ?
2) What's the ideal solution for Huffy framesize capture in order not to encounter any problems (stretched picture e.t.c) when resizing the frame ?
2) Is there any other solution to my problem ? (i.e be able to capture in higher framesizes ?)
Thx in advance.

your best solution is buy a dvd capable cdrom and rip the dvd's. with a pure source such as ripping you can get much better quality on a standard vcd than you ever could capping a dvd, not to mention copy protection/macrovision.
stretching a image is far worse than shrinking, it would look horrible. -
I'm not thinking about capturing from DVD. I'm thinking of capturing from TV and then burn onto DVD...
