VCDEasy doesn't do DVD-VCD. It only does regular CD's, right? Maybe, I need to update my software.

Interesting! I've tried to put two VCD files onto a single DVD+RW and the software by Sonic, readjusted the video and audio kps to DVD quality which only allowed me to put only one file on the DVD+RW. I thought DVD had to be as certain quality and couldn't be adjusted. That's why I'm trying to make a DVD-VCD disk.

Does (S)VCD2DVDMPG do DVD-VCD or DVD-SVCD? or does it only do regular DVD's with (S)VCD quality?

I must admit i'm not sure what DVD-VCD or DVD-SVCD is

However what svcd2dvdmpg does is resample the audio of a vcd/svcd mpg from 44.1 to 48KHz. To do this it first has to demux the mpegs into elementry streams. The program also 'patches' the video to fool dvd authoring software that the mpgs have dvd compliant resolution(otherwaise the mpgs will be either rejected or re-encoded). As a result you end up with mpegs which can be authored by dvd authring packages - resulting in a DVD containing your svcd/vcd mpegs of original quality. So no video re-encode occurs, meaning you can get 5 svcds on one dvdr - which i think is the trust of you question.

S)VCD2DVDMPG converts your vcd to mpgs that can be authored directly to dvds. It does ONLY convert the audio to 48 khz so you wont lose any video quality and the file size will be that same as the original vcd. But it will be dvd standard.

dvd-vcd = Should be called dvd only but it is vcd mpeg1s authored as dvd. DVD standard (not if the vcd source is 23,976 fps though).

dvd-svcd = SVCD mpegs2 authored as dvd. No real dvd standard cause of the svcd resolution.

  16. can you mix and match svcd's and vcd's on the same dvd?

Depends on your authoring software. But the answer is yes if the authoring software produces multiple title sets (i.e. a title set per source mpg)
