I have an ATI all in wonder video card. I plan to record in AVI format and then use Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video for any edits and then encode to MPEG-2 to burn on DVD-R. My question is this. What resolution should I capture in? I know DVDs are 720x480, however broadcast TV isn't that high. If I capture at a lower resolution, will I be able to put more video on a DVD-Video disc, or must DVD video always be 720x480? Also when I capture what is the best setting to use for AVI capture? What is the difference between the settings I am asked (Cinepak by radius, Microsoft Video 1, Intel Video 5.10, etc, etc?)
Thanks for taking time to ask my very out-dated question,
Barney
