  1. What VirtyalDub Audio Compression settings should I use for a DVD? I would rather my DVD Authoring Application not have to rencode the audio. It seems to mess up the sync.

  3. I have been using 48,000 16 Bit Stero 187kb/sec - is that uncompressed?

If you have no codec selected, it is uncompressed. If you still have synch problems, as a lot of people do, click here.

  5. Under audio I don't have as many options at that example you linked to is there a new guide?

I am selecting PCM for the format

  6. The DVD Standard calls for either PCM (= wav, uncompressed) or AC3 (compressed). Unless you have a really short video clip I'd recommend AC3 as it's MUCH smaller than PCM and gives you more space to use to increase the bitrate of your video.

Althought not offically supported ~99% of players will also play MP2 (mpeg1 layer 2) audio (encoded by TMPGenc, tooLame, etc).

Here's a link with guides for pretty much all of your audio conversion needs:

If you don not have as many examples to choose from, make sure you selected Audio-->Full Processing Mode.
    Hello.
