I have to do a project for a class I am taking and I need scenes from films. I have no DVD-ROM drive and I was wondering if there is a way that I could capture from a DVD to a DV tape through the analog out on my TV. When I try this, my camera says "Copy Inhibit." Is there any way around this? Any other suggestions for how to copy without the DVD-ROM Drive?
Thanks,
Dan

rip the DVD to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter or Smart Ripper disabling the macrovision. then play the video from the hard drive, then you won't get the "copy inhibit" message.
Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler. -

unfortunately, the macrovision is encrypted onto the DVD itself. most DVD players support macrovision, including the DVD/LD combo players (assuming it's a Pioneer). there's really not much you can do with what you've got to work with.
