  1. Ok, here's the sitch... I'm using a dvd authoring program which has the ability to import ripped/decrypted VOB files with their original chapter points.

Problem is, it splits the video according to VOB ID, and doesn't have the ability to splice them back together. I thought that perhaps I could get around this with IFOEdit by choosing the "no split" option which created one large VOB file. Unfortunately, this didn't work as I had hoped... the VOB ID's didn't combine into one.

So, here's my question... is there anyway to just alter the VOB id's manually? I attemped to edit them, but IFOEDIT wasn't havin' it. If this is a stupid question and should be easy to figure out I apologize... I'm pretty new to this kind of dvd authoring and did attempt a full search of the forum before posting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  2. Try this in the user guide area. But don't use Baldrick's guide but page down to max64's method.

  3. Thanks for the help coopervid, although I'm not entirely sure about how it would help me out in this situation. It's definitely useful for another project I'm working on though, so I appreciate the help anyways.

Maybe I wasn't completely clear on what I was trying to do, so I'll try to explain again. I'm taking a VOB set which has been merged into one large VOB (instead of four 1gig vobs, I have one 5gig vob), and trying to renumber the vob id's to where they would read as one large video clip.

    So instead of:

    V/C ID: 1/1
    V/C ID: 1/2
    V/C ID: 2/1
    V/C ID: 2/2

    I want to get:

    V/C ID: 1/1
    V/C ID: 1/2
    V/C ID: 1/3
    V/C ID: 1/4

  4. Well, I played around with IfoEdit a bit, and apparently you can change the VOB/CELL ID's manually in another area of the IFO. Unfortunately, this didn't solve my problem, so it looks like I'm screwed. ^_^
